Anita Gay chastises Melodie Wing for casting aspersions

WOW - look at all the complainants about Melodie Wing's behavior from members, and these members haven't been seen at WinCAM for years.  Melodie, in this writer's opinion, is a scarecrow keeping members out, scaring them away with her flagrant abuse of private information and ignoring rules Wing, an attorney, should abide by her self.

SO MUCH FOR THE ETHICAL STANDARDS we expect in a president, and an ATTORNEY
But just like Medford, Wing has her own unwritten rules, and if you cross her - she will be sadistic, malicious and strike you down with a fury that is chilling and not conducive to the facilitation of local programming. And she will strike you at your weakest when she knows you are suffering in your personal life.  And she'll do it on Thanksgiving week, because that is what sadists do.

Attorney Melodie A. Wing accused of casting aspersions on Jennifer Willie.

I totally agree with Anita Gay on this specific point (though I disagree with how both WinCAM and the fired staffers responded immediately, but - of course - tensions were high when Eyden and Wing and their board blindsided the membership and the staff - JV)

After retrieving her mug following the meeting, Gay said she took great exception to Wing’s self-censored comments regarding Wille’s alleged past issues.
“To cast aspersion like that, and do it in a way where you don’t even finish the sentence — that just really incensed me,” she said.
Constantine-Gay said her husband loved his job and only took two days vacation the last few years — her birthday and their anniversary.

DID ATTORNEY MELODIE A WING DIVULGE PERSONAL  INFORMATION ABOUT A FIRED EMPLOYEE???

WING, winner of 2 WinCAM awards 2010 and 2012 states "These were all reasons why we were not willing to give her notice ahead of time, because we were expecting this type of behavior.”

“She has had a pattern for some time of — well, I’m not going to go into it because I don’t think it’s appropriate,” Wing replied.

Longtime member John Shawcross questioned the logic of Wing’s statement.
“That’s an odd thing to say, ‘We were expecting her to get really upset when we fired her so we didn’t give her notice,’” he said.
“She has had a pattern for some time of — well, I’m not going to go into it because I don’t think it’s appropriate,” Wing replied.
Shawcross also questioned the rationale for firing Gay without notice.
“My impression has been Steve has done quite a lot of good things while he’s been here. … What has Steve done to deserve to be let go so abruptly?” he asked.

Wing accused by another member of creating turmoil, and look at Melodie Wing's lame excuse with her hiring of, arguably, the worst E.D. in WinCam's history, David Gauthier, and one of the worst since TV3 Medford

“[This] is creating turmoil and headlines in The[Winchester] Star,” he said. “Somehow or another you’ve got to do a better job about your staffing and, if you do decide to let people go, [of] getting rid of people. It’s not a happy picture.”
Wing made an analogy that WinCAM is like a ship sailing to a final destination and needs to keep its goal in sight.
“As you go, the wind is blowing one way so you kind of go of [course] So you tack [shift] and you go another way, and then you go and move around again and you’ve got to change direction again. It doesn’t mean you’ve changed your goal … it’s just [about] making those changes in order to get there.”
Shawcross, who coincidentally is learning to sail, wasn’t satisfied with the analogy.
“[I’ve] learned that one of the things about tacking is that it can be pretty disruptive when you’re changing [frequently],” he said. “It seems to me that, for whatever reason, you’ve made this tack rather more disruptive than it ought to have been.”

  • Page 4 of 4 - Wille also took exception to the example.
“They didn’t just change direction. They threw the captain and first mate overboard,” she said July 27.

The firings represent the second time in a few years the board has fired its executive director, as Don Cronin was fired about three years ago.
“Did he get two weeks notice, or was he escorted out of the building?” asked member Sally Rucki.
Cronin, however, knew for a year the board was unhappy with his performance, and even petitioned and
